The gusset is built from several thin layers: a soft cotton top, a bamboo terry absorbent core, and a leak-resistant barrier made with modal and a seaweed fibre layer.

Care

Wash before first use. After each wear, rinse in cold water until it runs clear.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colours. No bleach, no fabric softener. Air dry, never tumble dry, iron or dry clean.

Made with no fluorinated chemicals (PFAS-free).

How does Rudie work?

Rudie has absorbent layers knitted right into soft bamboo, with a leak-resistant barrier underneath. They wick moisture away from your skin, hold it, and keep it off your clothes. No inserts, no pads. Wear, wash, reuse.

What is it made from?

92% organic bamboo viscose and 8% elastane, knitted soft and breathable. The gusset is built from several thin layers: a soft cotton top, a bamboo terry absorbent core, and a leak-resistant barrier made with modal and a seaweed fibre layer.

Is Rudie hygienic?

Yes. Rudie is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, which means the fabric is tested and free from harmful substances. A cold rinse and a cold machine wash keep every pair fresh and ready to wear again.

Can I wear these as everyday underwear?

Honestly, yes. They are so soft and no-bulk that most people forget they are period underwear. Wear them on light days, in-between days, or just because they are that comfy. Trust us, you will not want to take them off.

Is less plastic better against my skin?

We think so. Most period underwear hides 20 to 30% synthetic sitting against your most sensitive skin all day. We cut ours to just 8%, so what sits against you is mostly soft, breathable bamboo rather than plastic.

Do these feel bulky like a pad?

Not at all. The absorbent layers are knitted straight into the bamboo, not stuck on top like a pad, so a pair feels like your everyday underwear rather than a nappy. The gusset is bonded thin and flat, with nothing to shift around or bunch up.

How absorbent is a pair?

This brief holds about 10 to 15 ml, roughly 2 to 3 regular tampons. Our thong holds less and the high-waist brief holds more, see each product page for its range.

How long will a pair last?

With proper care, years. Each pair is reusable and replaces hundreds of disposables and the plastic that comes with them.

How do I wash and care for them?

Rinse cold after wear, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then line dry. No fabric softener, no bleach, never tumble dry, so the fibres and gusset keep performing.
